Whisper on the Wind Book Review and Giveaway!!

Whisper on the Wind by Maureen Lang is the story of danger and love in the midst of war torn Belgium of WWI.  Isa Lassone is a privileged and beautiful young socialite who risks her life and sneaks back into Belgium to return to her childhood home,  find her first love, Edward,  and his family who raised her.  She is not prepared for Edwards's resistance to her love and especially when they become partners in an underground anti-German newspaper.  Their lives become entwined in perilous ways and eventually bring them together at the door of death.  Edward begins to let his feelings toward Isa be known.  Will their love be strong enough to conquer death or will the Germans succeed in snuffing out these "criminals?"

I was really excited to read this story because I am very interested in this era of history.  I thought the story plot was very well done, but I was disappointed with the pace of the action.  It was only suspenseful toward the last third of the book and somewhat drawn out.  Overall, this is one of those books that capture the German occupation and arrests with good description and also brings in an unlikely romance.
