Hey, friends, I hope you have enjoyed my mini-series about Dressing Your Truth.  I truly have been having a blast finding my new look and I am giving myself about a year to truly make this a reality for me!

So, what about you?

I can say, you will not regret it.  It has been worth every penny that I spent!  The information you learn here will truly enhance your life.  So if it's something that you want to pursue, go for it!

Dressing Your Truth Support Services and Rewards

I have shared a lot about Dressing Your Truth on my blog these past few weeks.  I am really enjoying this journey and I am learning something new everyday!  It's exciting and I see my confidence building and I have a sense of enjoyment getting ready each day.

So one of the first things they give you is a gift certificate for $10 to their online store.  What is really unique about the store is that after you have completed the Beauty Profiling Videos and have figured out your type, you can shop at the part of the store that exclusive for your type!  So I bought a black jacket and a black purse.  Since then I have bought a few more items that I'm waiting for to get in the mail.

Type 4 Buckle Up Handbag - $21.59Type 4 Track Jacket in Black - $29.97
So, I have had some questions that I needed answered about some of my orders and other things.  They have a great support staff and when I email them, I hear back within one day.

Another great support group is the Facebook page for Type 4.  It's fun to ask questions and many people post their Outfit of the Day.  Lots of great ideas floating around there.

Even though this is an online course, they make it very user friendly just like you are with them in person.  I took advantage of the Hair Support and got a Hair Consultation.  Like I said, I feel like I've fallen so far away from being fashionable that I needed HELP!  So I sent in pictures of me and some questions.  I received a 4 minute video with precise detailed instructions along with pictures to show my stylist as well as a 2 page note explaining different ways to style my hair using various products and exactly what to tell my stylist.  I took their advice and now I have a new haircut that I absolutely love!

As for REWARDS!!!

Every time you shop at the Dressing Your Truth store you earn points.  You get 5 points for every dollar you spend and for every 1000 points you earn you get a $10 credit.

And when someone else purchases the Dressing Your Truth Course through your link you get reward points from that as well.

They show a running total of your points in the member center.  It's fun to see how much I need to earn to get my next reward!

And they also have several special's here and there.  I just got 20% off my last order due to St. Patrick's Day.

I'm still working on my "look," but I'm getting there!

Let God DVD Review

Amelia and her husband Levi leave on a very dangerous and terrifying journey to find gold and a better life.  Amelia is very reluctant, but because she loves and honors her husband she leaves the only place where she feels safe.  On the way, their wagon is attacked and Levi is killed.  Amelia is left scared and alone.  She uses her wits to survive, but knows there's a higher power that is helping her live.

This video had very little dialogue, but a lot of movement.  You could read the emotions of this young wife as her face and actions showed her fear, courage and strength.  I was surprised and thrilled how this heroine fought her way through these struggles and stayed strong as she looked to the source of her hope.  This was a mysterious and suspenseful film that gave a hard look at the realities of prairie life in 1848.

*I was given a complimentary copy of this DVD from Edify Media for the purpose of this review.  All opinions are my own.*

42 Days to Fit (by Brandy Ferguson)- Success Story!

In January we booked out 10 year anniversary trip to Hawaii.  Yikes!  I have been trying since last year to lose some extra weight and I haven't been able to do it.  I really needed a boost to help me work hard the next two months before our trip.  I had downloaded 42 Days to Fit on Kindle when it was released and I actually tried to start it a few times, but never got past the first few days.  NO MORE!  This upcoming trip was definitely giving me a jumpstart to make some changes in my health.

For me, I truly don't "enjoy" exercise, but I know it's good for me and I really want the benefit of losing weight, getting healthy and having energy.  Somewhere around November I stopped exercising.  I also got sick with a cough and I honestly didn't feel like exercising.

So in the middle of January I picked up 42 Days to Fit and read the first chapter.  Brandy Ferguson from The Marathon Mom is a mother of 8 boys and she took this challenge and was able to develop a very doable plan to start making healthy choices and in the process was able to enjoy life as well as lose weight and eat right.

Each week includes exercise and food challenges and added on to those each week.  At first I didn't like the NO dessert and exercising 5 days a week!  I took on as many challenges as I could and being honest, I did cheat a little with dessert, but I continued exercising and I made the habit to exercise 5 days a week and I am still doing that.

A great part of this program is the Journey Guide which includes questions to spur your thinking, a place to take measurements and a place to take extra notes.  This was very helpful for me to put down on paper what I planned to do and what I was doing.  The link to the pdf file is included in the ebook.

Brandy shares her struggles as well as her successes. She is an amazing encouragement!  For me, I developed the exercise habit, got stronger, had more energy, created some healthy eating habits and I met my goal weight!!

There are so many fun ideas in 42 Days to Fit .  There are also links to videos for exercising and recipes.

Let me tell you, it can be done!  I recommend that you start today...to get ready for summer!  I'm still working out and eating well.  It makes a big difference in how I feel.  You can do it too!

AND NOW....42 Simple & Healthy Dinners (42 Days to Fit)

Check back with me in April for a full review as I try some of these recipes!

Becoming My Own Personal Beauty Expert- Dressing Your Truth

Do you remember when I told you that I HATE shopping?  Well, just the other day I went shopping with my color card and had an amazing time trying on clothes true to my type.  This has never happened before.  I would always second guess myself, but this time I was confident and could quickly identify what clothes were right for me and what were not.  Snap!!

Here is my color card and a very beautiful red shirt that I already had that I love that matches perfectly.

My next biggest step was taking everything out of my closet that didn't fit my type.  Here are 2 pictures.  Guess what I kept??

Needless to say, my Type 4 closet is pretty empty.  I'm good on pink and black shirts though!

I do love all the clothes in the above picture, but I'm going to give them a little rest for now and  honestly, I truly do choose the shirts in the lower picture on a more daily basis.

In the course for my Type 4 there are a series of videos:
*The 5 Elements: Design Line, Texture, Pattern, Fabrication and Pattern
*Jewelry
*Foundation
*Makeup
*Hair- Cut, Color, Style, Curly Hair Tutorial
*Transformation Story

Carol Tuttle gives you a lot of confidence to discover your own unique style through your type.  She says, "You are your own authority.  We are here to guide and direct you to do what honors your true self."  She NEVER puts you down, but always builds you up.  She is sincere, genuine and very knowledgeable.  She employs many excellent women who have gone through transformation and look absolutely beautiful.  They share tips, tricks and so much other helpful information that is truly fascinating to watch.

Another great section of the course are all the Club Night recordings!  Basically, about 6 times a year they host a club night in their center in Utah.  They cover topics like scarves, hair styles, shoes, winter wear, refashioning, makeup and even exercise wear.  Each video features all 4 types with models in the back dressed as each type.  They often bring people up for the audience to remake them to truly bring out their type.  It's so fun to watch!!  I am getting tons of ideas.  They have been making videos since 2009 and have over 40 videos.  They have Hands On Events that dig deeper into your style with specific outfit ideas, jewelry, makeup tips and how to personalize your style.

This program is not about making cookie cutter women, but about drawing you out to dress who you are!  I'm so excited to see how my transformation will go this year.  I'm giving myself time to do this.  I honestly have never been excited about anything like this before.

I hope that if you are really struggling in this area that you will take some time to watch the FREE Beauty Profiling Course.

Here are some comments that have been made about Dressing Your Truth:

*I love the confidence it has given me and the peace that comes from the clarity of knowing who you are!
*I love how everything goes together.

Next time I will share about all the great support services that I have found through Dressing Your Truth as well as rewards that you can earn.

Choosing My Course- Dressing Your Truth

Were you able to sign up for the FREE Beauty Profiling Course?  I hope you did and are enjoying it.  It's just part of Becoming Your Own Beauty Expert.

So after I took the Beauty Profiling Course and read Carol Tuttle's book Discovering Your Personal Beauty Profile, I figured out what Type I was.  There are 4 types, each with their own unique descriptions.

I am Type 4- Bold and Striking!  Even as I was watching the videos and reading the book I was drawn to many of the words that described me.

Did you know that dressing who you are makes people look at you in certain way?  If you wear a really bright color and your hair is done up in a cute style, people might assume you are happy and peppy, but you may be quiet and shy.  Honestly, it doesn't matter what you wear as long as you feel good in it.  But with Carol's great tips and advice, you might see yourself in a different light.

I always wondered why I couldn't be as outgoing or loud or confident or graceful.  That's because that is not really me.  I tried to dress like those things.  But I know that I am quiet, still, conservative, reflective, serious, strong and independent.  That's who I am and that's how I can dress.

Each type of beauty has a specific color combination as well as tips about pattern, style, jewelry, hair and other accessories.  When I watched the Dressing Your Truth Course, I wasn't immediately drawn to everything, but I could certainly make my own style.  I absolutely LOVED the colors.

So what type do you think you are?  Just watch the FREE videos in the Beauty Profiling Course.

And if you are interested, you can sign up for the complete Dressing Your Truth Course for your specific type.  There is SO much great information that I will share in my next blog post about what is included in your course.

In the meantime, comment and tell me about your fashion story and anything that has helped you!

Discovering Dressing Your Truth- FREE Beauty Profiling Course

Last time I shared about my (un)fashion story!  Yikes, I knew I had sunk down a little far from where I thought I would be now that I'm closing in on 40.

About a month ago, I was surfing Facebook and saw this page that a few of my friends liked called Dressing Your Truth.  I loved the title and was interested.  So I hoped over to the website and signed up for the free Beauty Profiling Course.

What is the Beauty Profiling Course?  Carol Tuttle has created an amazing series of videos to share her thoughts about how our inner energies are portrayed in how we dress.  Now, it might sound a little mystic, but Carol is very articulate about typing each different energy.  As you watch these videos you will start to understand just where you fit in.  Even before I had finished the second video, I knew I wanted to take the complete Dressing Your Truth Course.  It was on sale so I signed up!!

What is the Dressing Your Truth course?  It is a complete course that teaches you how to become your own beauty expert.  When you figure out your energy type, then you learn about all colors, patterns, styles, makeup, hairstyles and other accessories that you wear that all magnify your inner beauty.

The course includes: Discover Your Type of Beauty by Carol Tuttle, a full 3 hour course for your specific beauty type, a color card with a customized style guide, membership to a vast array of videos that are SO fun to watch and learn from, support team that you can email anytime, online hairstyle and wardrobe galleries and an exclusive store to shop for just your type of beauty (and a $10 gift card to use in the store)!  I am still discovering all the gems included in my course.

I was very pleased with all that has been offered by Carol and her team.  I have never seen anything like this system, but I am so glad I have found it now!!

What do you think?  Is Dressing Your Truth something you want to look into?  I suggest you take the FREE Beauty Profiling Course and find out for yourself.  There is absolutely no obligation to buy.

I have more to share next week about my personal beauty transformation that is happening right now!

My (un)Fashion Story

If there was anything that I thought I would never write about on this blog, it would be fashion.  Why?  Well, about 5 years ago (when I became a mom) my clothes took a nose dive.  Partly because I gained weight during pregnancy and became a stay at home mom instead of going back to work as a teacher.  Essentially, I got rid of ALL my teaching clothes because they did not fit or look right as well as they were impractical for my new job at home.  However, I never took back what I used to do as I was very precise at dressing for work.

Right now, I feel so unconfident about anything that I wear.  First, I want to look nice for my husband, but I also want to love what I wear.
Jeans and t-shirt (everyday look)

I have tried different ideas to improve my fashion.  Frumps to Pumps by Sarah Mae is a great little devotional that helped me to get dressed every day (score!), but did little to actually boost my fashion or style.  I still had the same old t-shirts and jeans look with little to no accessorizing.

Then I found Stitch Fix.  Yes, someone else to pick my clothes.  My first box arrived and I was not thrilled at all.  I chose to keep a black shirt which I can't even find in my closet any more.  I guess I didn't love it.

I have gone shopping and HATE it.  I can't find anything that looks good on me.
I love this top, but it doesn't look right on me.

My sister is probably my best bet in getting me stylized, but she lives far away and I don't get to see her often.

So basically, I'm left on my own to sluggishly pursue trying to dress well.

Why do I want to do this?  Well, I'm going to 40 this year and I have found that when I dress in a way that enhances my features, I feel ready to take on the day!

Things I don't like about fashion:
*Not everything looks good on me
*What colors actually would look good on me?
*Do I wear patterns?
*How do I add accessories?

Yes, I pretty much am at a loss in how to dress.  I'm finally getting back to my original pre-pregnancy body and I'm ready for a new look.
Um, I look a little uncomfortable here as well.

BUT, how and where do I start??

(I had a really hard time finding pictures of myself because I don't like them taken.)

Tune in later this week for what I have discovered to help me become my own beauty expert!!

Growing Up Duggar: It's All About Relationships by Jana, Jill, Jessa and Jinger Duggar

The Duggar girls- Jana, Jill, Jessa and Jinger, share all about relationships in their first book Growing Up Duggar.  As stars of the TLC show 19 Kids and Counting, the Duggar girls get hundreds of letters and emails asking so many questions.  They decided to write this book to answer some of those questions and share how they manage the different relationships in their lives.  The Duggars have chosen to follow God with some pretty conservative Christian views and they live very counter cultural, but that is the beauty of their lives.  They address relationships with self, parents, siblings, friends, boys and God.  They appeal especially to young girls in their tweens and teens.  They candidly share their struggles and victories.  They share many great ideas for how family life works as well as values and priorities that young women should have.  Each of them are deeply involved in ministry and they serve God in every part of their lives.  This book is great testimony of their hearts and they share so that young women everywhere can follow their example.

I was so impressed with the Duggar girls!  I hope every tween and teen reads this book.  It was great hear the perspective of young girls actually living a pure and whole life even amidst the cameras that constantly surround them.  They had some great stories to share and the values they hold are what I would like my daughter to have.  They each have unique gifts and talents and they honestly live in a way to please God.  I really like how much they respect their parents and how true they want to be for the one that God chooses for them to marry.  This book has so many ideas not only for young women, but also for moms like me!  How wonderful that Jana, Jill, Jessa and Jinger shared these great insights about their lives for others to read.  I highly recommend this book be read by every young woman who wants to follow God with their whole heart.

*I was given a complimentary copy of this book from Simon & Schuster for the purpose of this review.  All opinions are my own.*
