MMEM

Last Day of Pamper Me, Please!
It's time for Sweet Scent Soaps!!
I was recently privileged to work with Michelle from Sweet Scent Soaps which is also called Yummy Bath Treats on Etsy.  She sent me this yummy coconut slice cake soap made with goat's milk that looks good enough to eat.  I was amazed at how creamy and milky this soap was as I took my shower.  I love the coconut scent and the yumminess of the look of the soap.  She also sent me a Chili Pepper N Sweet Orange Whipped Body Mousse that is heavenly.  I rubbed it on my body after taking a shower in the morning and it was so light and refreshing.  It was a great day to start my day.

I really can't say because what I though was unique with our soaps is what everyone else is doing. We offer soaps that smell sweet and look like dessert and still give you the benefits of goats milk and all the yummy skin loving oils. So I really can't say!
Thanks, Michelle!
Yes, these are soaps, but they look good enough to eat!

Pamper Me, Please: Brandi Button Bags Review and Giveaway!!

MMEM

Pamper Me, Please with Brandi Button Bags!
I was very pleased to work with Brandi who offered me a cute little black and white clutch to review for her Etsy store- Brandi Button Bags.

"This is a cute little clutch that can go any where with you. It has an outside zipper, with 3 different inside compartments. Including one that will fit your driver's license or credit card perfectly. It has a magnetic closure in the front. Dimensions are: 5.5" tall 7" wide 1.5" depth.  This is made out of premium 100% cotton fabrics with decor bond interfacing and 100% cotton thread."

I really liked the different black and white fabrics that were used and the contrasting sizes of the dots.  I was surprised at the thickness and sturdiness of  this little clutch.  It fits perfectly in my hand without being flimsy and can easily be tucked under my arm.  This is also small enough even to slip into a larger purse. You also have plenty of room for a checkbook, calendar, phone and keys.  I also liked the outside zippered pocket to store anything loose.  This would make a great gift!

Let's get to know Brandi a little bit:

*Where did you come up with the name of your shop?
I came up with the name BrandiButtonBags because the bags I originally started making had a large signature wooden button. Everyone loved the buttons I put on my bags, so I decided to name my store after them. I made bags for friends and family first, and they became more and more popular that I decided to open a store. I haven't done any advertising so my store isn't very successful, but I still get requests from referrals and such.

*How long have you been quilting?
I started quilting about 6 years ago. I had never sewed before that, and I just fell in love with everything about it from picking out the fabric, to the finished result.

*What is your favorite thing about quilting?
My favorite thing about quilting has got to be seeing the end result. I think only a quilter can appreciate all the time and effort it takes. Quilting requires such minute detail for the big picture in the end, and I like that too.

*What is unique about your shop?
I think my shop just has unique patterns. I like picking out different fabrics too. I love having bags that no one else has, and they are comfortable to wear as well.

Thank you, Brandi!!
*This product was provided to me free of charge for purpose of this review. This is my honest opinion of this book and no monetary compensation was received for my opinion.*

Buy it: Brandi makes stylish hand bags, quilts and more. Check back often for new items. Since Brandi has a new shop, she currently offers FREE SHIPPING on all items!

Pamper Me, Please: Skin2Spirit Review and Giveaway!!

MMEM

Pamper Me, Please...Skin2Spirit!!

I was so excited to find Kathi's Skin2Spirit Etsy shop.  I was privileged to review her Counting Sheep Whipped Shea Body Mousse.  I was immediately drawn to the fact that her ingredients are all natural.  When I received the product I fell in love with not only the natural scent, but also the creaminess of the lotion.  This particular mousse has lavender, grapefruit, orange, vanilla and chamomile in it.  I sometimes have trouble sleeping and so I decided to smooth this mousse on my skin every night right before I slip into my bed.  My sleep has been heavenly.  I also give my son a little massage right before bed and he "sleeps like a baby."  I know that this lotion is great for my skin because it has so many powerful ingredients including more than 9 organic super fruit extracts from the Amazon.  Kathi's motto is, "What are you feeding YOUR skin?"

Let's get to know Kathi a little bit:

*Where did you come up with the name of your shop?
This was a long, long process. I wanted to name it something that made people think "Natural body care", but that was also easy to remember and had a nice ring to it. There are so many names out there and I had to think of about 50 and then weed out the duds by asking friends and family members to vote. I held a contest on facebook and the winner ended up not being used because it was already used! So I came up with Skin2Spirit by thinking about future products (perfume that is now in development) and the body care line. It just seemed right after many sleepless nights.

*How long have you been making your products?
I have been making products for about a year, but have been dreaming of them for many years and formulating in my mind.

*What do you like best about what you do?
I like the freedom to do what I want! It's that simple. I like to bring new products in just because I have a fancy to. I also like the creative process of dreaming up new formulas and scents and designing the labels (I am an artist at heart).

*What is unique about your shop?
My shop really does make all natural body products. Many, many businesses out there say they are all natural and they are not. For example, fragrance oils are not all natural. They are chemically derived and formulated in a factory. Most people don't know this, and they also don't know that many of these oils can cause health problems. This upsets me the most about this business. I have integrity, and if I say it is all natural, it is all natural. Don't get me wrong, I don't think some of these shops dupe people on purpose, I just think some are not well informed. I researched my products for many, many years before actually making them, and checked each and every ingredient thoroughly.

Kathi, thanks for sharing!

*This product was provided to me free of charge for purpose of this review. This is my honest opinion of this book and no monetary compensation was received for my opinion.*

Pamper Me, Please: Knit on a Bike Review and Giveaway!!

MMEM

Pamper Me Please, Day #2!

Introducing Knit on a Bike!

Kristine is one of my really good friends and I actually met her through knitting!  She is one of those girls who carries knitting with her everywhere.  I really loved the things she made, especially scarves.  So one day I asked her if she would teach me how to knit and she did.  We started getting together monthly with a group of girls and knitting and sharing yarn and having tons of fun.  One thing though that is so unique about Kristine is that every thing she knits is different.  No two projects are the same.  She also creates high quality scarves, hats and bags.  She started felting and that has opened up a whole new world of wonderful projects for Kristine.  I love to go to her house and look at her stash of yarn.  It's all color coordinated and divided into different types of yarn.  It is very neat and organized and you KNOW Kristine has got it together.  She also writes down every project with what yarn she used and the different types of stitches.  She is also willing to create anything that you desire!

I was so privileged to rifle through her large bins of hand knit hats until I found one that fit my style and need.  I have tried over and over to make a hat, but Kristine is able to whip one up in one night.  My hat is bulky weight yarn that is 45% wool, 42% nylon and 13% acrylic.  She even includes a little business card with washing instructions.  This hat has about 1.5 inches of ribbing which makes it fit snugly on my head and covers my ears!  I love the colors of blue, off white and light brown because they coordinate with my clothes well.  This is a great hat that I can stash in my purse to have on hand.  I love the softness and I know it's made with quality so it will last a long time.

Let's get to know Kristine a little bit:
*Where did you come up with the name of your shop?
My husband actually came up with the name. A couple years ago I was opening an eBay account and I wanted my ID to be something to do with knitting but also something that defined more about me. I love to bike! In fact I even commute to work by bike on most days. So, here I am...Knit on a Bike.

*How long have you been knitting and how did you start?
December 2002 I was on my way back to Montana to visit my family for Christmas. On the flight there I saw a gal knitting a scarf and it was so interesting - and everyone was so interested in what she was doing. I was attracted to the idea of making my own things. And doing something unique! At this point knitting for 20-somethings wasn't so popular and I liked that too. So, when I returned home from that trip I bought myself some yarn and a “Teach Yourself How to Knit” kit and March of 2003 I taught myself how to knit!

*What do you like best about knitting?
That's hard - I like a lot of things about knitting! I like yarn – all the colors and textures and combinations of fibers! I like seeing a project progress – especially with a new yarn. I like the feeling of accomplishment and pride I get when I've completed a project or when someone compliments an item and I get to tell them "I MADE IT"! I like teaching others how to knit and see them "get it"! I like the look on someone's face when I've given them something I've made and I just know they love it! I like having something to do while waiting in long lines...the list could go on but I'll stop there!

*What is unique about your shop?
There are a few things that I think make my shop special. First of all, everything is hand-knit by me – I pick out the yarn, I come up with how to use it, I make the entire item from start to finish. Also, I don't really use patterns for anything - I try to come up with ideas on my own. Of course I'll see other things - knitted or not - and get ideas but usually I just put it together in my head. I've never really been a pattern knitter - except for sweaters and socks - and I don't have any of those in my shop yet. But I did just add an enormous amount of sock yarn to my stash so watch out for those soon. And I also have acquired a lot of great patterns and books lately so my pattern-free knitting may change if I find something really great and I don't find the need to alter it or free hand it! Thirdly, each and every item that I make is unique. I never make two items the same. Ever. I always like having things that are special and different and I want that for other people too. And finally, I think you’ll notice as you browse through my shop that all of my knitting is…On a Bike! I love to bike so much that for our wedding my husband bought these 1970’s Schwinn bikes as our getaway “car” and I’ve used them as props in every photo of my knitting for sale on Etsy. I think that’s what makes my shop so unique!

Thanks for sharing, Kristine!

Pamper Me, Please: Handmade Creations by Greta & Elle Review and Giveaway!!

MMEM

It's time to say "Pamper Me, Please!"

I met Elle several months ago online and she helped me to get more connected through Networked Blogs and gave me some great advice for improving other parts of my blog.  Well, as I continued to converse with Elle and visit her blog, Take Two Reviews, I found that she and her (twin) sister opened an online shop with some really cute items.  Elle was very gracious to let me review this beautiful heart charm red beaded necklace from her shop.

I received my necklace in a precious little box with 2 butterfly stickers on it and wrapped in a bow.  Inside was this gorgeous necklace!  I chose this particular piece of jewelry because I love hearts and the color red.  I thought it would go well with what I like to wear.  Now that my hair is cut short you can see my neck more and I want to show it off.  This necklace is 17 inches long and has10 large red beads and silver tubing in between.  In the middle is a silver heart with little red jewels that sparkle.  The clasp is a circle and rod that really enhances this unique design.  I really like how this lays on my neck.  It is just the right length and dresses up my outfits with just a little bit more elegance.

Let's Get to Know Greta and Elle a little bit more:
*Where did you come up with the name of your shop?
The name of our shop is Handmade Creations by Greta & Elle. Greta & Elle are just nicknames for our longer, real names - Margaret & Michelle. We do business under our real names, but our website shop is just titled this. Having our real names on the banner isn't as pretty ;)

*How long have you been making your products?
We've just started making jewelry this year and we caught on pretty quickly. Both of us like to read up on how to create new designs and use new materials. It's a learning process, but we hope to only improve! We have experience with other crafts which we have been doing for several years, but this is our first year working on jewelry pieces.

*What do you like best about what you do?
I personally love the fact that its really fun and relaxing. Also, knowing that someone is going to wear whatever we make or use something we've created is inspiration enough for me to work hard on it and make it the best that I can. I love when I get feedback about something we've made. It just spurs me on to make my next piece even better.

*What is unique about your shop?
There are lots of people selling jewelry and other similar items. You can buy jewelry like ours at most stores. However, we customize our pieces upon request and we put some special touches where we can. We send our jewelry in gift boxes too. If you want the letters of your name on one of our necklaces or bracelets, we can do that. If you have an allergy, we can customize that too, when possible. We try to keep the cost down too. As we are making the pieces, we inspect it - every stone, jewel, and charm. We try our best to make the customer happy with the purchase they have made. We also sell other items like craft boxes and stained glass creations!

Thanks for sharing, Elle!
*This product was provided to me free of charge for purpose of this review. This is my honest opinion of this book and no monetary compensation was received for my opinion.*
