She's Got Issues: Seriously Good News for Stressed-Out, Secretly Scared Control Freaks Like Us by Nicole Unice is a book for women who want to be transformed. Nicole explores 5 1/2 areas that hold women back from living free: control, insecurity, comparison, fear, anger (and it's partner, unforgiveness). Nicole is your girlfriend on the couch next to you leading you down a path to uncover all the dark places of your life and change them to help you live joyfully and abundantly. But how is this possible? Nicole's humor in sharing her struggles and practical biblical applications will awaken the hope inside your heart to follow God's best for your life. There are personal assessments, prayers, journal exercises, group discussion questions and links to short YouTube videos. There is also an excellent DVD for small group Bible study with 6 sessions and teaching from Nicole's heart as well as personal interviews and a participation guide.
I felt like very word in this book spoke directly to me. I have struggled with all of these issues in varying degrees and I don't know how to get out of the downward spiral. I was touched by Nicole's deep sense of God's powerful words to bring healing and transformation in my life. Her book offers practical ways to overcome these issues and allow Jesus to work through them, not despite them. Her DVD sessions made me cry and think about how I truly care and want to be changed. I will run into these issues, but now I know how to tackle them! I highly encourage this book and study for all women who want to grow closer to God.

"The author, Nicole Unice, is this hip, down to earth young mom with a wealth of Christian counseling experience and a magnetic personality. Her book and curriculum are great, as they address so many of the issues women face and give practical, Scriptural counsel on addressing our issues so that we may live a more abundant life. Some of these issues are "leftovers” from middle school: control, insecurity, comparison, fear, anger and unforgiveness. Nicole provides a real and honest voice in Christian living for a new generation of women who desire to live free—but are not sure how to get there."
*I was given a complimentary copy of this book and DVD for my review from Tyndale House. All opinions are my own.*
