My Memories Suite Digital Scrapbooking Review and Giveaway!

If there is one thing that I really want to do, but don't have time or energy is scrapbooking. I became a mom in 2008 and I have tons of pictures of my cute little boy, but they sit in my hard drive. I pull some out every so often to make copies for family or put on my blog. But what I really want is to make some lasting memories come alive and share them with my family besides a few loose pictures here and there. Are you with me?

Well, recently I was contacted by Liz from My Memories Suite Digital Scrapbooking. I was blown away by the great software that she offered for my review. At first, I was a bit hesitant since I'm not very computer savvy with this new digital scrapbooking software . But I downloaded the software and then I watched a video of how to make my own special creations. It was fantastic. I quickly found some pictures of my newest pride and joy- Jessna, who is now 7 months old. I picked my template and all the pictures were loaded right in and I can quickly edit. Snap! Whee, this is fun. I think I only am licking the icing of the cake because I'm sure there's a lot more that I can do.

I decided to do a Christmas album for my review.  Here it is!  It hardly took any time at all.

Anyway, you see that I made a few beautiful pages with very little work. I can now send this to a printer to make a book. That would be such a special gift and great way to preserve my memories of my kids.  Wouldn't you like to do something like that too?!

A Wedding Invitation by Alice J. Wisler Book Review

A Wedding Invitation by Alice J. Wisler is a story that the author was inspired by from an invitation she received when she moved into a new house for the previous owners.  Samantha Bravencourt is a single young woman who had spent time in the Philippines working at a refugee camp and is now working with her widowed mother at her boutique shop in Washington D.C.  She receives an invitation for a wedding in North Carolina from an old college pal.  She goes to the wedding and realizes that the invitation was not for her.  She feels mortified about her mistake and spends time with her aunt who lives in the same town.  During the weekend she meets people from the past that she knew in the Philippines.  Carson, a fellow teacher and someone she loved, asks her to help him reunite a mutual friend with her mother.  Samantha becomes involved, but does not want to relive her disappointment with Carson.  Can she help him without her heart being broken again?

This story had multiple stories that floated back and forth between past and present.  All the stories were interesting, but it was hard to keep track of the bouncing between decades.  I really like how this story was written in first person.  It really draws the reader to enter the character in a personal way.  I felt every emotion Samantha had, but it also did not allow me to figure out what Carson was thinking.  I wasn't too drawn to Lien, the young woman Carson and Samantha were trying to help.  But there were a lot of fun and colorful characters and there are some great recipes in the back.  I really enjoy Alice's story and it's a fun read for a quiet afternoon.

Jessna is 7 months old!

Jessna is 7 months old!  I can't believe it!  

Here are a few things Jessna is doing:

*started eating purees (loves fruit)

*giggling

*can sit up by herself

*loves the exersacuer

*a people watcher

*has pulled herself forward a few times on her tummy

We just made our first big trip down to see cousins in Oregon.  It was a long drive, but she did so well.

My two sweet babies!

I like to do finger plays with Jessna.  One that I do is "This little piggy" and I touch her toes.  One evening she was sitting on my lap at dinner and she was touching her toes.  Shrade says, "Jessna is playing with her piggies!"

It's a lot harder to keep up with child #2, but I'm trying!  I really want to give Jessna just as much as I did for Shrade, but I don't think it will happen quite like I envision.  But I do hold and cuddle her as often as I can since this is our last baby.
